State Privacy & Data Security Laws
VA Help Center operates in the mortgage industry and is subject to federal financial privacy requirements, including applicable provisions of the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act.
State privacy laws may also apply depending on the residence of the consumer, the type of information, the activity involved, and exemptions contained in a particular state law. Certain comprehensive privacy statutes, including laws in Utah, Texas, and Florida, contain exemptions for financial institutions and/or information regulated under the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act.
